A little About us

Our history

In 1996 Edward and Carol Stoudt brought their dream of building an architecturally unique and inspiring community to life in Lancaster County, PA. Designed with his ancestral home of Rothenburg, Germany in mind Edward re-created a modern day version of an old European Village where homeowners could be both a resident and a merchant.  Read more about the history of Stoudtburg Village and watch our 6abc news spotlight, “One Tank Trips”.

The land that Black Angus cattle once grazed is now the little hamlet aptly named Stoudtburg Village.  Zoned for both residential and commercial use, the village at this time is primarily residential, however we have several established and newly opened retail shops and boutiques that feature antiques, handcrafted gifts and collectibles. If you'd like to learn more about The Shops at Stoudtburg Village, click here or use the navigation link in the menu above.

Our stucco homes with steep-pitched red roofs, wrought iron balconies, red-top and pebbled walking only streets create a warm and inviting atmosphere filled with European charm and character.  Beautiful landscaping  surrounds private patios and small gated yards. The Village plaza offers seating and our fountain, where "Peaches" the fountain nymph sits high above and sprays water into the pool below.

Located in Adamstown, we are certainly one of Lancaster County's  best kept secrets. Our residents share the knowledge that their neighborhood is a unique community and an environment unlike any other.  We welcome visitors and enjoy sharing our history, our architecture, our walking paths, shops, and restaurant.
